Quantity Surveyors, with their strong commercial and contractual bias, are the financial services of the construction industry - the kind of position that suits problem-solvers with analytical minds. On this accredited degree you will follow a broad and rigorous programme of studies, picking up a sound understanding of the fundamentals, principles and applications of construction technology, management and economics. You will also explore the legal issues relevant to the building industry. You will graduate safe in the knowledge that you have a thorough understanding of your chosen profession, and ready to progress to higher managerial positions.

Our BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying degree will develop the professional skills of project management, negotiation and dispute resolution which are applied throughout the project. You will also learn how to use the subject-specific software associated with quantity surveying, all of which help prepare you for a smooth transition into the workplace. You will also study alongside students on the construction management, facilities management and building surveying degrees, allowing you to share knowledge across programmes and the opportunity to transfer if you wish to.

The course has been designed to be delivered to give you the opportunity to spend one year working in the profession. The remaining years are spent in full-time study at the university. A part-time route is available for students already working in the profession and who wish to seek professional recognition.
