Bachelor of Technology in Rubber Technology

Rubber technology is a discipline that deals with the production of useful products such as tyres, household products, toys, medical products and other useful components from materials such as natural rubber, synthetic rubber, latex and other polymeric materials.

In simple terms, it deals with processing (example- vulcanization) of rubber, latex and other relevant synthetic materials to manipulate their properties and produce useful items from them. Rubber technology is a very important field of science. It helps process above mentioned materials and obtain useful products, which are used in our day to day lives.

Rubber technology professionals usually indulge in tasks like collection and processing of raw materials (natural rubber, latex, synthetic rubber, polymeric materials etc), process control, product design, mould design and R&D work. They possess knowledge about the chemical composition and properties of raw materials, chemical reactions, properties of rubber and polymer science.
